Broken Systems: Uncovering the Corruption of the American Healthcare System

The American healthcare system is failing Americans due to high costs, lack of accessibility, and inadequate care. Health expenditures in the U.S. are the highest in the world, often resulting in delayed care or forgoing treatment altogether. The system’s heavy reliance on insurance leaves millions uninsured or underinsured. Furthermore, American healthcare is profit-driven. Instead of doctors helping resolve patients’ illnesses, drugs are pushed toward patients to mask their symptoms. It prioritizes large revenue over patient preventive care that leads to overtreatment, rising drug prices, and chronic conditions. Overall, these factors contribute to a system that is complex, inaccessible, and often fails to provide quality care to those who need it most.
