Peter Gruner is a graphic design student based in New York State and will be graduating with a BSD in December, 2025. From his artistic experience, particularly through working with pastels, Peter has developed an affinity for creating layered designs. As he transitions from his time at ASU, Peter is excited about tackling real-world design challenges.

Arctic Sea Ice Decline: Impacting Indigenous Communities

As the variable concentrations of Arctic sea-ice continue to decline at alarming rates, Indigenous ways of life, rooted in thousands of years of tradition and knowledge, are under threat. While these communities played no role in creating the problem, they have nonetheless been thrust onto the front lines of the climate crisis. Global warming is the by-product of an industrialized society that has historically marginalized Indigenous communities and traditional ways of life. As such, it represents another injustice in a long history of colonial persecution.
