Mikayla is a Graphic Designer based in Arizona who will graduate with a BSD in Graphic Design in May 2026. Case Opened: Trauma in Foster Care
Behind every foster care “case file” is a child navigating repeated loss, instability, and trauma. Multiple placements, disrupted schooling, and changing caregivers create lasting emotional and psychological harm. Each move fractures relationships and a sense of belonging, reinforcing fear and insecurity. Although foster care aims to provide protection, it often fails to provide consistent healing resources or stable environments. Temporary fixes are not enough; meaningful reform and trauma-informed care are essential to ensure children are supported rather than continually displaced.
