Desensitized: The reality of school shootings in the United States.
The past four years have each been record-setting years for school shootings in the United States. Last year, there was about one shooting every other day of the school year. School shootings and gun violence among youth are at an all time high and are steadily increasing each year, yet America’s current sociopolitical climate is more focused on protecting the rights of gun owners than the lives of children and educators. We live in a selfish, deeply corrupt society that is desensitized to the tragedy of school shootings and is failing to recognize the need for serious change.
