Katie Jacques is a future graphic designer living in Connecticut who will be graduating with her B.S. in Graphic Design in May 2025. She loves design and appreciates the fact that it’s a craft that she can continue to grow in. When she has free time, she loves spending it with her boyfriend and their cats or her friends and family. A classic Gemini by nature, one part of her loves being active – skiing, hiking, or going out dancing. The other half likes being curled up with a great book, gaming or sketching in her sketchbook. This versatile nature carries over to her designs and creations. Katie is most passionate about brand design, UI design, and motion graphics and can’t wait to explore these areas more in the future.

Food Insecurity in the U.S.
Empty Plates In America
Food Insecurity is a lack of access to adequate and healthy food. We often think of hunger as something that primarily affects impoverished countries, but here in the United States it is a prominent issue. One out of every 7 households are “food insecure.” Without adequate food and nutrition people are at higher risk for many health issues. Areas of food deserts in our country highlight how disparities in wealth are a large part of the problem. Marginalized groups are also at higher risk of being affected by food insecurity. While we have government programs like S.N.A.P. in place, funding is often at risk. Even with non-profit organizations helping, it is still a problem in our country.
