Media Literacy

Click & Consequences: The Importance of Media Literacy

In an era where we encounter a constant feed of messages, images, and claims, the ability to critically evaluate and analyze information has never been more crucial. Media literacy is the compass we use in navigating an increasingly complex digital world. From distinguishing credible news sources from misinformation to understanding how algorithms shape what we see, these competencies affect our ability to make informed decisions about our health, communities, and democracy. Even though we live in the most connected age in human history, studies reveal that a significant portion of the population struggles to spot false information, verify sources, and recognize bias in digital content. Knowledge is power. Gaining the skills it takes to comprehend digital media isn’t just powerful, it’s necessary for surviving in the 21st century.
