textile waste

92,000,000

Textile waste is an issue that has been on the rise over the past few decades. Post globalization and standardized sizing, fast fashion companies have pushed microtrends. This shift led to overconsumption that is only possible because of the low clothing costs offered to consumers. These prices are only possible because of the low wages and unsafe conditions that sweatshop workers endure. These factors have led to 92 million tons of textile waste each year.
