What Happens to our Unwanted Clothes

Textile waste is a growing environmental concern. The increased consumption of fast fashion, throw away culture, and the lack of more economical options for handling the vast amounts of textile waste means most of it ends up in landfills and in the environment. Add to this that a lot of the garments worn are made from textiles that are synthetic or a blend of synthetic and natural fibers. These synthetic fibers further contribute to plastic pollution.

There is likely not a single solution but many different strategies for handling the growing amount of textile waste. The goal is to work towards reducing the amount of textile waste.
