Dream Job: Working within the entertainment field and doing branding and logo design

Geoff is a visual designer, choreographer for the marching arts, and a graphic designer based out of Houston, Texas, and will graduate with his BSD in graphic design in May 2025. He currently works as a resident graphic designer for Prop Vinyls, a marching arts production company, creating custom-designed silks, tarps, props, and costumes for various competitive organizations around the US. Geoff not only creates great stand alone designs, but ones that will simultaneously remain visually effective while in constant motion, and at varying speeds, making his creations instantly recognizable. Geoff is seeking to expand his network by branching outside the marching arts realm and into other opportunities that arise. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his friends and family, being outdoors, and traveling the world.

School Shootings

Record Breaking Heartbreaks: The Ceaseless Rising of School Shootings

It’s a fact that in 4 out of 5 school shootings, at least one person knew about the assailant’s plans, but failed to report it before it took place. It’s also a fact that handguns are the number one discharged weapon used in school shootings since 1990. The outbreak of covid initially was thought to be an accidental catalyst to create decline in the number of shootings per year, but we have seen the complete opposite since 2020, giving us the most recorded numbers of shootings in American history for the past four years consecutively. Preventive measures like education about gun safety, strict gun laws, crisis management, mental health awareness, and creating safe spaces inside and outside of the classroom are vital components in stopping this rise in tragedies.
