Book Banning
Voices [REDACTED] : The Muting of Diversity
Recently, America has seen a surge in school book banning, with a dramatic increase in public library censorship requests of 92% in 2023 over 2022.The modern era of book banning in America tends to be on behalf of conservative groups such as Moms for Liberty, focusing on representations of people including LGBTQIA+ and black, indigenous, and people of color. This eliminates the voices and representation of these people, further marginalizing them.
