Angelica Jaszewski is a designer based in Chandler, Arizona, graduating in 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Design. She has a background in psychology and loves using design to make ideas feel clear, approachable, and a little more fun. She’s drawn to projects that involve branding, motion, or web, especially when there’s room for bold color and thoughtful details. When she’s not designing, you can usually find her painting with watercolors, dancing at the studio, or spending time with family.
Texting and Driving
One second can change everything
Texting while driving is a serious problem that affects everyone on the road. Research shows that it makes you 23 times more likely to get into a crash. This statistic becomes even more alarming when you consider how many people still do it, even though they know it’s dangerous. Texting isn’t just a quick distraction, it takes your eyes off the road, your hands off the wheel, and your mind off driving, all at the same time. Studies have also shown that it slows your reaction time more than alcohol or drugs. Despite this, over half of adult drivers admit to texting while driving. The enactment of new laws has helped reduce crashes in some areas, but this remains a big issue. If we want to make our roads safer, we need to take distracted driving more seriously, because one text is not worth life.
