Homelessness

Homelessness: A Crisis of Humanity

Homelessness is not only a dire issue which endangers its victims physically, but it holds a mirror to society, revealing another problem underneath: we don’t value every person equally. Victims of homelessness are more often than not ostracized by society, viewed as a burden, and recognized as less than human. Changing this view is the beginning of solving the epidemic. On top of that, the federal and state governments need greater investments in research to discover what actually fosters recovery, rather than falling stagnant because of disagreement. Local communities need to come together to take care of their fellow citizens. Education must become more available to reveal how contributions of time and resources can go above and beyond what is needed to end homelessness once and for all.
