The Lows of The Foster Care System
The Harsh Reality for Children in Need
The children in the foster care system have most likely already had a rough childhood or recent traumatic event that landed them in the system. The last thing they need is an underfunded, poorly run government association creating another bad environment for them to grow up in. Unfortunately, the children in the system are constantly met with poor living conditions, unstable foster parents and little to no resources during and after leaving foster care. This not only leaves children to face the world alone but results in young adults who were in the system making poor life decisions, such as never graduating high school, getting their GED, or obtaining a job, which creates more homelessness, drug and alcohol addictions and incarceration.
