When Wants Become Waste: The Impact of Modern Day Consumerism

The growing convenience and the addictive urge to spend have fueled a dramatic surge in purchases and waste. This acceleration in buying and selling has led to the overproduction and use of more resources, goods, and products than we actually need. Meaning an increase of waste made from cheap plastics and toxic materials, that can’t be recycled or repurposed, getting mismanaged, put in landfills, or burned, all of which pollute the environment and put a huge strain on the planet. This cycle of mass shopping and rapid disposal drives long-term environmental damage. It’s an unnatural growing problem driven by aggressive marketing and fast-changing trends that push us to buy more and think less. Refuse to let trends define you, make more mindful choices for yourselves and the planet.
