Water Scarcity
Human Costs of a Global Crisis
Water scarcity is a global crisis that occurs when clean, accessible water is not available to meet basic human and environmental needs. Driven by overconsumption, pollution, climate change, and aging infrastructure, freshwater supplies are being depleted faster than they can recover. While some communities use and waste large amounts of water, others face daily shortages that affect health, sanitation, food systems, and quality of life. Women, children, and vulnerable populations are the most affected, leading to generation inequality. Water scarcity deepens imbalances, harms ecosystems, and threatens long term sustainability, making it an urgent issue that demands awareness, responsibility, and immediate action, before it’s too late.
