Dream Job: Music Industry Creative Director
Kate began her creative journey through taking photos in high school. Through her photography teacher, she was introduced to the world of visual communications and began taking classes. This interest branched further into pursuing graphic design as a college student and future graduate. Kate worked with the Morgan County Correspondent as a graphic designer doing pagination work and creating page layouts. She has always loved social movements, the outdoors, and music and would one day like to pursue a career that combines her interests with design.
Social Media Addiction
(Anti)social Media: The Modern Addiction
Social Media is used everywhere, all the time. From “enjoying” nature to the toilet, people are on their phones. Especially for today’s young adults and teens, social media has become a place to escape from challenges in the outer world and disconnect from your own identity. Due to the scientifically engineered apps created to grab and hold your attention, addiction has become rampant and can lead to a variety of negative impacts including poor mental health, withdrawal, and shrinking attention spans. Social media is destroying the mental capabilities and potential of future generations.
