Defend, Not Defund: The Fight to Save Knowledge, Community, and Intellectual Freedom

For decades, libraries have served as invaluable third spaces all across the country. Aside from simply being a place to check out books and magazines, a local library is commonly a community staple that provides opportunities to gather, learn, and access valuable information and tools.

Today, public libraries are facing threats of closure due to proposed funding cuts to the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Without proper funding, libraries face detrimental consequences such as the loss of public resources and critical community services, as well as rippling negative effects in rural and low-income communities. The best way to save your local library is to visit your local library. Get a library card, speak up, fight back.
