Elena is a graphic designer based in Chicago, Illinois. She will be graduating with a BSD in Graphic Design in May 2026. She completed an internship with Dupuis Group in Fall of 2025 where she worked in packaging design and advertising for the food and beverage industry. Through her time at Dupuis, she learned to work efficiently and thoughtfully due to their high client volume and tight deadlines. She also solidified a love for packaging design and agency work. In her spare time, she enjoys knitting, reading about the Industrial Revolution, and making custom leather journal covers for friends. Elena will be spending 3 weeks after graduation hiking the Camino de Santiago in Spain as a lifelong goal of hers.

Tuberculosis: The Curable Problem

Tuberculosis is a pervasive issue in our modern world despite having a known cure. Because of socioeconomic inequality and a lack of funding in third-world countries, the disease continues to take the lives of 1.25 million people a year and infect around 10 million people as of 2023. Additionally, there were around 500,000 cases of drug-resistant Tuberculosis. With research into new drugs, funding into the medical infrastructure of third-world countries where TB impacts communities the most, we can rid this terrible sickness once and for all.
