Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women

Lost in Numbers: The Statistics of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women

The issue of missing and murdered indigenous women is nothing new. Since the beginning of the colonization of the Americas, indigenous people have been dealing with women going missing and being killed. Cases go unsolved due to jurisdictional issues and low funding for tribal police. Looking at the numbers we see the harsh reality indigenous women face. With more voices speaking out on the issue, we can only hope action will be taken to ensure the protection of indigenous women everywhere.
